About Saor
Small by design. Serious in intent.
Saor R&D is being developed around a simple ambition: to pursue meaningful technical questions with the independence of a small laboratory and the discipline to follow the work honestly.
Capability with accountability
An independent laboratory creates room to ask difficult questions without allowing scale, convention, or short-term pressure to decide which questions are worth pursuing. Modern development tools, including AI-assisted engineering, expand what small, focused teams can investigate—but capability does not remove the need for understanding, evidence, or accountability.
We combine curiosity, careful system design, practical experimentation, and independent verification so that useful ideas can become clear, reliable work.
Independence with intent
Saor is intended to remain privately controlled and deliberately adaptable. The goal is not growth for its own sake, but the freedom to make independent decisions, pursue useful research, and build a small, capable organization where collaborators have meaningful autonomy.
Where research produces practical results, those results may eventually become useful software, licensed technologies, or published findings. The appropriate path depends on the work itself.
Intellectual independence
The laboratory's direction is shaped by a commitment to intellectual independence, user autonomy, and engineering decisions that can be challenged with evidence.
